Is the US planing on helping Americans effected by Trump’s tariffs?

The Canadian government is planning a stimulus package to help businesses and Canadians if Trump imposes tariffs on Canadian goods. Canada doesn't want a trade war but if it does happen – it is a comfort knowing my government will help me deal with it. Cheers!

I was just thinking that during the covid epidemic the US did have a stimulus package. But the checks were delayed a week until the government agreed to put Trump’s name on the checks. There might have been family's having watered down ketchup soup for breakfast – lunch and dinner and Trump was more concerned about getting his name on the checks. And I think he will do it again. Cheers!

If anything, I believe Trump will be curtailing any government assistance to individuals.  Frankly, the red states will probably feel the pinch more.  Since they're the ones who voted Trump into office, it will serve them right, but I feat  fear for the ones who didn't vote for him who will suffer as well. That certainly sounds like something Trump would do. If he acknowledges the need for a stimulus package he is acknowledging that he was wrong about tariffs not costing Americans and American businesses anything. Cheers!

We don't water down the ketchup as we can't afford it in the first place.  We do, however, forgo food, medication - even heat - just to survive.

I know it is not a funny situation but your reply reminded me of a SNL skit.
2 guys were sitting down to a supper of Kraft dinner for the 100
th day in a row. One of the guys pulls out a bottle of ketchup which really excited the other guy and he said – wow I wonder what the poor people are eating. Cheers!

Not so dumb. Trump voters remembered his stimulus but not Biden's which was larger.

Not so dumb – but pretty heartless.

I bet the reason people remember Trump’s more is because he threw it in peoples faces for years. I got you the biggest stimulant package in US history – the radical left wanted to give you nothing – but I got you the biggest stimulant package in US history (and so on and so on). If Trump’s lies were t-bones Americans would be well fed.
I just made that last bit up – I like it. Cheers!

Trump issued a total of $1800 per filer and $1100 per child.

Biden issued $1400 per filer and $1400 per child.

So the difference in who gave larger depends on the number of children involved.

There is more to it than that. Anyone who wants the full story can look it up for themselves. I am certainly not going to waste my time in a pointless discussion.

rump won't help Americans, as he only cares about himself and his rich buddies.  What he is going to do is make more Americans homeless while he lives it up in luxury in one of his many mansions.

There are many who believe that Trump plans to deliberately crash the economy. History tells us that during a recession or depression, the rich take advantage of low stock prices caused by smaller investors selling off to have money to live on. As the economy recovers, the stocks become valuable again and they become even wealthier.

Well Trump’s mass deportation and tariff plans could crash the economy in the US. So maybe that is his plan.

In a couple more days Trump’s promise of 25% tariffs on all Canadian goods will be here. I was thinking that he would back down on that threat. But if he does want to crash the economy he won’t.

This is pretty stupid but I think the only thing that might save America from a depression is Trump’s ego. Trump’s job approval fell 3 (or 6) points overnight so maybe he will start doing good things for Americas to get his numbers up.

Yeah right – then an angry gorilla will fly out of his butt. Usually it is monkeys that fly out of peoples butt. But with Trump it would be an angry gorilla (because he is always angry and his butt is large enough to hold a gorilla). Cheers!

At this point, Trump doesn't need to care about his approval ratings with the peons of America. He doesn't need to be re-elected. As long as he is still buddies with the ultra-wealthy, his ego is intact. I don't know what will happen with the tariffs. But he will have to claim that Canada caved to his demands, whether they do or not.

Canada and Mex have both agreed to Trump demands so tarriffs are delayed 30 days.   I assume to see if they follow through.
