Now we hear that Trump has appointed positions to his children?

Seemingly for the transition government? Is it just me who finds this odd to say the least? Shouldn't there be qualified advisers, people who can guide and steer him? Almost like he just wants to surround himself with people who will just agree and not argue with him.. hmmmmm very odd.

Perhaps this is just a team while he waits to be in position but.. but.. it doesn't bode well and what's the betting they will get positions within the government..

It's scary!!!

  • I doubt much would surprise me from him anymore.

  • Just seems peculiar.. given that he is inexperienced and knows little about being in politics.. and given that one of the main criticisms is that he has no experience. You would think he would want to surround himself with experts who can help him.. give him credibility.. I mean I love my kids but if I were a brain surgeon would I invite them on my team?

Weren't they supposed to be put into control of his business as his 'blind trust' to avoid conflict of interests? As if... Tsk tsk. Talk abou corruptive behaviour. He sure makes an end of the establishment and will make sure his family's gets payed by others money. Smh.

  • If there is a way to pay his family for any campaign expenditures, he's done it. Perhaps I would do the same, just doesn't sit well with someone who talks so much about being really really rich.

Or someone who claim to fight the establishment and their camaraderie. Words seems shallow already and he has shown several examples of how he will make sure to do exactly what he claimed the Clinton's of doing. Over and out.

    Hello A:

I don't understand why Trump doesn't understand the term, Conflict of Interest?  It's NOT really a hard concept.  He DOES talk about draining the swamp, so it LOOKS like he understands it.  You'd think a president could figure it out..  But no, huh?

OR, maybe he DOES have it figured out, and he's just PRETENDING so he can get RICHER, and then even RICHER than that.

It's amusing that so many non-Americans spend their days talking about America.  Seriously.

Thrifty, I think that freedom of speech is what America is all about and I think that most of the people from other countries seem to know more about politics than most Americans, even ABOUT America.

I welcome such interest, since I'll admit we don't give them much room to talk about their own countries since we are so vested in this Trump thing.  So, let them join in.  What harm can they do?  This is the purpose of this site, I thought?

  • Well Thrifty.. I am suitably humbled then :P nah not really. lets look at the facts.. this is predominantly an AMerican site.. I actually have tried interjecting the odd UK comment..but since most here are AMerican and by their own admission know nothing about our politics..so let me see.. what SHOULD i talk about huh? Don't you think it's one up for other countries that they DO take an interest in other countries and what's happening.. kinda shows they aren't insular, which actually is something AMerica has always been accused of with the stats showing that most Americans don't even own a passport and have never travelled outside the US..
SO in the nicest possible way, please don't flatter yourseif - I don't spend most of my day, let alone days talking about AMerica - i am fond of it and care but bless you I could equally hold a debate about Brexit, the NHS service, environmental issues, Special educational needs and the list goes on.. so personally I'd take it as a compliment that people show interest and I'd see it as a sign that they are intelligent :P

Campaign staffers get paid even family of the candidate.  Hillary Clinton paid Chelsea.
They do have a position on the transition team. They know their father and what type of people he would work well with.

No they will not be appointed to anything in the government. No cabinet positions etc.... Nepotism is illegal.
