Yesterday, I discovered the the SS admin had deposited a quite large amount of money in my bank account.

(almost $5K) My monthly amount is normally around $800. When I contacted them about it she said that a few years ago, a real president signed a bill stating the SSA can no longer reduce the amount I receive each month because I earn other pensions. It finally caught up after three years, and they paid me a lump sum of what they owed me. Also my monthly amount is going up by $300. Has this happened to you yet?

Feel free to scroll past anything with which you don't agree.  As far as I can tell, we still have that right.

BUT we are also free to reply, even if we disagree.

This has absolutely nothing to with DOGE or with fraud. This post was edited by my2cents at March 8, 2025 10:50 AM MST

I did keep a screenshot of this post before it was moderated. I do that for most interactions between myself and the moderator because I am seeing what looks to me to be a disturbing pattern.

You were well aware this law was passed. Why are you claiming credit for DOGE?

Of course, I know about the law.
I am claiming they implemented it quickly...(Effiecently) you know the E in DOGE.

When does government ever work that fast? Maybe something to do with having to get their buttons butts back in the office to work. This post was edited by my2cents at March 8, 2025 11:25 AM MST

I posted my comment under this where you implied DOGE found fraud. Are you trying to gaslight me?

If the gov keeps the money it was not supposed to keep, that is fraud on the part of the government toward the citizen.

It would be, but that is not what was happening.  Congress passed a NEW law that overturned the OLD law. They followed the law. That was discussed at length in answer to a question you posted.

    https://answermug.com/forums/topic/143751/how-do-you-feel-about-the-social-security-fairness-act-of-2023

I fail to understand how following the LAW is fraud.

Reading the question which says it took 3yrs to catch up.
I don't know if it was that law or not...as it was not 3yrs ago and did not go back 3yrs.  (Not interested in hashing that out)

But if it was being withheld (fraud), or if it was implemented as quickly as 2 months (Effiecently)

Either case is  a win for DOGE,  in my opinion. This post was edited by my2cents at March 7, 2025 7:39 PM MST

There was no fraud. It just took a while to catch up. If musk had found it first, I would have never known about it. Your logic appears to be backwards.

No, Musk is only getting rid of fraud, waste and improper payments.     Your payment is none of those. So no, he would not have removed it.

His audit and forcing of remote workers to back to the office may very well have speed up your payment. Or caused it to me initiated...as you said it had been 3yrs and they had not sent it.
Government fraud can go in either direction.

Probably as a way of apologizing before they cut you off altogether. Trump ALWAYS stiffs the little guy.
