When we die, why can’t we all be buried in pine boxes if that’s what we want?

I don't see why we can't be buried in a pine box if that's one's preference.  That's how it's done in the Jewish religion.

I agree.  If I didn't already have a place to be buried I'd opt for the burial where they plant a tree above your body and you feed the tree.  In fact I could give the plot to a family member if they want it and do the tree thing.  I'd want another tree planted nearby so I would not get lonely.  Trees talk to each other through their roots.  Theres a whole different, amazing, world below ground when it comes to things with roots.  

We can but there are usually restrictions and regulations at the local, county, state level.  I know people who have a family cemetery and others who simply have land where they bury their dead just like they did two hundred years ago.   

I am that person with whom you do not want to be with at a funeral or anywhere else where laughing is frowned upon.  I have a funny recent story that I was going to share but I think I'll wait a while.  I'm crying from laughing so hard.
