Eggs are down here. Only about 20cents from Jan 2025 but they increased temporarily from $6.72 to over close to $9.00 for 18ct. They are now back down to $6.52. Also listen to the whole thing. He says eggs jumped up 87%, if you could even get them, 7 days into his presidency. And he got the down 92%. So down about 5% from the from the beginning of his presidency.
Gas here is $2.65 as of today. Also about 20+cents lower than Jan 2025.

Egg prices went up and then down since he took office. While he understandably has no blame for the surge in the months after he took office, I don't understand why he lies when the fact is that egg prices on average are down almost 50% since March. That is a significant win for him. Gas prices are lower than much of 2024, but not lower than when he took office and certainly not as low as $1.98. I have to wonder if he understands the information he is given or if people tell him what he wants to hear.
Egg prices here in March were abouit $4.79 a dozen and it was the same this past week. Gas fluctuated between $3.28 and $3.11 and I think it was $3.18 on Friday.
The cost of a carton of eggs here has been constantly fluctuating between $12.98 and $13.23 since Jan 1. (Eggs haven't been .50 since 1978 -and even then it was due to an easter promotion). Gasoline prices here have fluctuated between $4.57 and $5.01 since Jan 1. (I haven't seen gas below $2 since the early 80s, although I believe they dipped slightly below $3 during the peak of the covid lockdown).
I don't think I could afford to live where you live. Looking at the cost of living by state, it's clear that people have very different experiences. Averages don't mean much when you live in a high cost area and it's easy to dismiss concerns when you live in a low cost state.
