Why does it look like there is no animals everywhere for miles and miles in suburban blight cities?

    'Cause they be small.  Oh, they're there.  It's just kind of hard to see a mouse from yards away (even with glasses). 
    On occasions, big animals (horses, deer, bears) will "visit" the burbs, but they prefer their privacy (rural areas where there's food and peace and quiet).

    Can I take it a step further and suggest everyone should live within city confines and leave everything outside of it to wildlife. Could it work?

    I live in a rural mountain area along with a lot of wildlife (bears, deer, mountain lions, raccoons, eagles, etc.).  And I will say that I much prefer living with wildlife than I do living with people.
