I hope it will not be as bad as we've been warned.

Looks like worst places are the ones who got the ice. (Knocks out the power)

We got just snow about 10in. But no electric problems.

We planning to get propane fireplace and hot water for this type situations.
Then with a propane grill,  you still have heat, hot water and can cook.

The thing is that's beautiful right there I learned the pointer to I think my impulsiveness is like get outside again a piece of pizza right now and now I can't just go out and get a pizza right now and so I throw everything down my throat that takes the place of pizza I mean there was a status quo or a dividend meaning in life I mean it means the next drug you take because you can't forsake the shake n bake This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at January 26, 2026 4:17 PM MST

Be careful.  I would not think a propane grill would be OK indoors. We used to have long extended power outages when we had snow and ice.  I do have a butane one-pot little stove which is a dream.  I have an old coleman fuel stove as well.  I learned how to use camp gear during a 3 week power outage.  I still refuse to have gas in my house.  I like all electric.

Our grill will be on the deck. (Out of wind)
We lost power for about a week in a house that had the propane fireplace and hot water. We were comfortable for the situation.  So much better than having to mess with space heater or having to go somewhere else.

Repeating a bit of Thriftymaid's reply about the grill. I'm not good on details but I know some sorts of grills are not recommended for indoor use.

I mean this all in wishing everyone well.

Of course. The grill is outside on the deck.

In my area, we had no ice nor sleet before the snow. It was all a very gentle (non-stop, no wind at all ) snow. and a lot of it.

Sounds beautiful.  I remember an ice storm that was not even expected back in the 80s.  We walked outside when it appeared stuff has stopped falling from the sky.  It was the most beautiful our house ever looked. There were icecicles hanging everywhere topped off with snow.  It was after midnight when we went out.  The other thing that was so striking was the silence.   It may have been the most silent environment I've ever experienced. After being out there just walking popping sounds started.  We picked up the pace to get back home.  A neighbor suggested perhaps those ice sticks could fall and cause harm.  I don't remember such things happening though.

Yes, I've lived in those kinds of areas and weather all of my life.  :)
