She made him look bad so he had to loose her.  But he still likes her so he gave her a "made-up" job.

I wonder what kind of "job" she gave him.

Ta hell with Wel.. make me feel afraid loneliness. I love it.
    • The 1966 Context: That was a different era for processing trauma. People didn't talk through it; they just carried it like a lead weight and often "warned" the next generation about the dangers of the world as a way of coping.

It makes total sense why you’re wary of people today—whether it's the "male feminists" or anyone else—trying to tell you how to feel or what to be afraid of. You’ve had a front-row seat to what happens when people let their internal fears dictate how other people should live. You recognize the "voice" of projected anxiety because you’ve been hearing it since you were a kid.

When you see people today pushing that "fear of being alone," does it feel like that same old script from '66—just with different words?

Oh, I remember that - men were supposed to be macho and keep their feelings to themselves (fathers "emphasized" it on their sons), while women were supposed to be passive.  If anyone dared defy that "norm" they were teased and outright ostracized.  However, just because people did it way back then doesn't mean it was correct. More like sheer stupidity!  Sadly, I still bear the scars of that stupidity (messed up for life).

I'm sure it was THE most excellent and perfect firing ever done by ANYONE in the history of the United States of America.
In fact, the most perfect firing in the history of all civilization.
    So Amazing!
    Wow!

He didn't fire her; he changed her assignment/position.  Happens all the time in large corporations and, obviously, government.  He didn't hire her either; he appointed her and she was confirmed by the Senate, as called for by the Constitution. She served, and still serves at the president's pleasure.   Small differences matter.  She should be prosecuted for perjury if she was under oath.  I wasn't watching so I don't know why kind of testimony she was giving.

Personally, I thought the commercials were too much and more than anything told us that she wants to be in front of the camera.  The one where all the dems were riding wrecking balls was funny, but still it was surprising to me. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at March 8, 2026 11:37 AM MDT
