I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen that. But if I've tried to search for the source myself and can't find it or if it's an outlandish claim, I might ask for the source. I'm just as capable of searching for the information as anyone else so often times I'll look for it myself. But I know what you mean. Sometimes, that's the impression people give you.
I like the ones whose only comment is to say they don't know anything about the topic. And I think to myself, well, that was helpful and informative, thank you very much. lol
