Would it have made a difference?

Obama said Hillary lost because she didn't campaign in more places. If she had got out there and had more rallies and made more appearances in more places, do you think the results would have been different? Did she lose because she didn't try hard enough?

    Point #1: HRC didn't lose. She'll win the popular vote by more than 1 million voters. It is an artifact of our Electoral College system granting disproportionate power to low-population-density states (most of which lean GOP for various reasons) that HRC will not be President.

    Point #2: HRC, being the consumate "insider" politician, was an EXTREMELY poor choice of candidate for an election taking place during a period of very strong anti-Establishment sentiment. Had the election been a 3-way race between HRC, Bernie Sanders, and Trump, I suspect HRC would have ended up third.

    Because of her record as an "insider", HRC had little to offer in terms of POSITIVE reasons to vote for her. Her positions on trade, international relations, Wall Street regulation, etc. are NOT what most of the population wants. Yes, there are supportable arguments that she is "better" than Trump, but those arguments boil down to "I'm a familar Washington Insider who will screw you over once in office...but Trump is genuinely bat-s**t crazy." Not exactly the message which will fire up support.

    So, no, I don't think HRC's problem was she didn't try hard enough, unless "not trying hard enough" includes failing to offer many voters a POSITIVE reason to vote FOR her, instead of AGAINST her opponent(s).

  • All very good points.  Some think she may have won more states if she had visited more places.  Honestly,  I don't think she ever stood a chance either.

  • Losing the Great Lakes Midwest had a lot to do with that.   That's what happens when you got a party and candidate who don't think their chit stinks.
