I don't believe in juries being effective so I try and get out of jury duty.   I personally would NEVER elect to have a jury trial.  It is equivalent to a crap shoot.  People who like to have a jury selected for the outcome of any "crime" a person is accused of?  Those  are people who like to gamble, because it is a 50/50 chance that you will get a fair verdict.    Juries are selected to fill spots that are advantageous to one attorney or another.  Not because the person is going to be fair and balanced.  Most people are filled with prejudices and biases and they come out full force in a courtroom.  No thank you.

It is not my duty.  It is an outmoded practice designed to profit the best attorney.

My duty is to love each person and serve each person on earth the best I can. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 17, 2016 8:31 AM MST

    Hello t:

Maybe if more people took their duties seriously, they'd actually WORK.

I think it's wonderful that you're nice..  But, that doesn't help my country..

    Your WHAT?

    LOL

Dream on.  You don't even own your house and garden if someone with a good attorney hates you and decides to sue you.  You are SCREWED.  If you win?  You are broke.  If you are broke, you own less than you own now.  And, I hate to tell you, but this country is hardly YOURS.  If you are rich enough, you can fight to stay.  If you are not, it doesn't matter what country you live in.   We have very little say.  And now that pig is in the Oval we have even less. I believe I have a duty to vote and to participate in the jury system although, in New York, I am not required to serve as a juror after age 70 (a milestone which I have achieved).  I am far too old to serve in the military, but I would be happy to knit tank cozies if that would serve/defend my country.
