How low do standards have to go to get some someone like a Giuliani/Gingrich confirmed for dog catcher let alone anything more?

    Thank you.

If it WERE only Trump that got elected, that would be terrible enough.  But this is why it is an abomination.   I think this is World War II all over again and the Nazis have been reborn in America.    This is Karma, folks.  Karma.

We never solved one thing in WWII.  Nothing.  We stopped a despot by becoming one ourselves before and after that war.

No we did not gas anyone, but maybe that is yet to come on the horizon.  I mean we did not win because we are GOOD, folks.  We are not GOOD.  We are human and we didn't learn a damn thing since then except this idiotic notion that we are so powerful nothing can stop us.

That is a dangerous stance and we will now pay.  God is NOT on our side.  God is on the side of peace.  That is God's only side.  They are not better than us and we certainly are NOT better than they are.

We decimated the Indians.  We decimated the blacks in their own country and dragged them here to be slaves.

We are WORSE than the NAZIs in many MANY cases.  Do not think we are God's special little people.

  • Guiliani was apparently responsible for cleaning up graffiti, vandalism, and violence in New York, or at least, he picked the Police Commissioner and Broken Window Policy that achieved it.
When I looked up his bio, he looks good. It seems he was once a Dem, and still has some feeling for those less well off.
It looks as though he has spent most of his legal career fighting crime.
If this is true, then perhaps he might make a good attorney general.

When  Giuliani was married to a woman named Donna Hanover he was having a flagrant affair with a dame named Judy Nathan. He paraded her around and flaunted the affair and the mistress in front of his wife, his children and anyone who was paying attention. He humiliated all of them and rejoiced in doing so. He is a sleazebag immoral heartless man. I see no value in such a person as that. I don't care  how tough he is or how smart he is. He is worthless in my eyes. Newt Gingrich has a similar history although he is worse. He cheated on two wives and left one who was ill for his mistress Calista whom he married. More worthless sh**. All men are not like that. PET seems to feel comfy in their presence since he is exactly like them.   Thank you for your reply hartfire and Happy Friday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at November 18, 2016 1:59 AM MST

  • Mmm.
I believe a politician should be immaculately honest in working and public life, in representing the wishes of the voters, in seeking to legislate in accordance with pre-electoral promises  and in all comunicatiions - because that's the job paid for by the tax payer.
But his or her sex life, married or otherwise is absolutely nobody's business except the family and immediate people concerned. It should not be a matter for public airing because it has no bearing whatsoever on the public welfare.
Psychologists who study sex (Kinsey, Masters & Johnson, and Hite) estimate that 80% of men have affairs and %70 of women, based on self-reported questionaires of tens of thousands in the USA back in the '50's - '70's. My guess is it's probably about the same now.
If sexual purity must be a qualification for public office, why not have all candidates screened by private detectives before they are allowed to stand?
If that idea is too ridiculous, why complain after the event?
It smacks of double standards to think that ordinary citizens can behave one way with impunity but politicians may not. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 18, 2016 4:02 AM MST
