what is your definition of deep?

I would probably love dancing to the rhythm at a party.
Unfortunately I have some kind of difficulty with most (not all) op music: I can't hear more than 10% of the lyrics at best.
I heard snatches: " between two times... fill my pockets full of stones....  lay me down...  let the overflow... be my sun/son..."
Without the written lyrics, the meaning is lost to me

I did not know you cannot hear well.  

How could I have known?  I'm glad you told me.  It is more about the idea of water and depth.  And thank you also for trying to listen.

That's a really interesting answer.
Do well do we know another's ego? What their strong and weak points are?
I think there are ways of speaking which are less likely to hurt egos; probably avoiding negative judgements, criticisms, and blame; using language that takes responsibility for one's own perceptions, interpretations, feelings, needs and requests.
I usually think of deep as going as thoroughly as is possible into any topic - immersion.
Sailors used to drop a weighted rope with knots at specified intervals to "fathom" how deep the water was.

Yep.
I tried scuba once. There might have been something wrong with the gas or my breathing technique because I felt high as a kite afterwards.
But chasing things deeply does often make me feel high.
