    Shut up! Uh, yes, but it isn't polite to say, "Shut up!". If someone is offending you and you do not appreciate what they are saying, you should call them out on it.

    In USA freedom of speech is freedom to speak against the government without fear of retribution from it.

    The government may grant citizens certain rights, however, individuals are not tasked with recognizing the rights of others.

    Sure, you can excersize your "right" to tell someone to shut up, but they have a right to show you that you can't make them shut up.
