Do you or any of your family members ever double dip or triple dip for holiday dinners?

My husband and I stayed home for Thanksgiving and made our own dinner but we got invited to his mom and stepdad's house, two of my uncles invited us, and my dad and stepmom invited us.

My dad and my stepmom live only 50 miles away but both of my uncles and my MIL all live near Denver so I could have taken a trip to Colorado and triple dipped for Thanksgiving dinner!  I thought about that but I wouldn't do it that way.  That would be a lot of food to eat!

If you don't have your holiday dinner at home do you just pick a relative and stick with your choice or make the rounds?

I usually host, but wasn't able to this year. My dad's wife volunteered to cook and I took her up on it. After we made those plans, my mom told me she wanted to do Thanksgiving with me. She and my dad are like oil and water, so I took her out to lunch earlier in the day. I'm kind of weird about not visiting businesses on holidays. I don't generally think they should be open- it's family time, but I was really glad we found a place that was and even served a full turkey dinner. You just reminded me I have leftover pie. Yum. :)

My dad hasn't been remarried very long so mom and stepmom haven't been together yet.  Not sure how they'll get along if there's ever a family dinner together.  My mom isn't remarried so she goes to her brother's house for Thanksgiving anyway.
