Is this deep artisitc expression or shallow modern pretentiousness masquerading as such?

I'm leaning towards the latter.

For me, I sometimes enjoy not knowing what's going on or to know exactly what something means.

    Parts of this I enjoyed.
Parts were sort of uncomfortable to watch.
Of the two choices you offered, maybe it's both (which is probably impossible)?
    I don't really know but I'm glad I watched, so ,for me, that's a "plus" I guess!

  • Interesting ... Like the old Zen koan of what is the sound of one hand clapping, I think we ptobsbly bring our own interpretation to it ... Which is probably different from the author's ...

  • I honestly don't know .. the author obviously thinks not ... The company and the sponsors obviously thought not ... Who gets to judge?.   The lowest common denominator?

  • I like it for it's absurdity, but at the same time I have to make to fun of it.

Now this I really want to see.  Trust me you have not seen fabulous yet.

  • I know!  It's awesome.  I love when the tit starts squirting the audience with milk.

I like your complete love for the dance! I rather like it, too, even more, the more I think about it after watching it and answering earlier today.

We are only seeing a small (selected) part of the show.
It may be a valid comment on disabilities, or it may just be fluff. To decide/know which, I would need to see the entire show.

It's highly unusual because it is contemporary dance. This is a ballet company in the Sadler's Welles Theatre in London. In order to understand it, you have to find out what the performance is about. It is expressive though.

  • I watched the whole performance.  Not just this clip.  It really is just modern performance art nonsense. Interesting, but nonsense none the less. IMHO
