Have you ever watched a Turkish movie?

I'm watching one called "Muhtesem Yuzyil" on Netflix. (The Magnifient Century). It may be like Scheherazade.

I don't believe I've ever seen a Turkish one.  (Yet.)

I never had seen one either. It turns out, it is a series. It was the story of Scheherazade of "The Thousand and One Nights" story.

Yes. I have watched five movies all by the same director, Nuri Bilge Ceylan. These are: Uzak (Distant); 3 Monkeys; Climates; Once Upon a Time in Anatolia; Winter Sleep. My favourite is Anatolia, in fact it's one of my top 10 films since 2000. 3 Monkeys and Climates are probably the most accessible. I would not recommend Uzak unless you like movies that are extremely slow, with a lot of silences and the characters don't show much emotion.

I will see if The Magnificent Century is out on DVD, it sounds interesting. This post was edited by Reverend Muhammadovsky at May 17, 2017 12:21 PM MDT
