To DdbTD. I just asked a question about Chutzpah just now. I'm delivering directly to you what the dictionary definition is as follows:
CHUTZPAH: "Unmitigated effrontery or impudence. Gall". It is not a compliment. It has zero to do with self-confidence and everything to do with arrogance /cockiness/self-centered pompousness. Just FYI. :)
"Trump isn't that different from Obama"? Surely you jest SBtABR. They are like night and day in every way. In my opinion. That you perceive them as similar perplexes me. Different strokes m'dear. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)
Both ran as outsiders promising change, both won on the strength of their personalities as much as policy proposals - as have many other winners such as TR, FDR, JFK, Reagan, and Bill Clinton, and both were seen by their opponents as having a lot of gall, brazen nerve, and effrontery - i.e. chutzpah. As I said, many similarities. Maybe that's one reason they're getting along so well and Trump is consulting with Obama so often during the transition.

Touche! Did you happen to hear the Matt Lauer interview of PET via phone on The Today Show Wednesday morning? He waxed poetic about how much he likes Obama and how much help he is being during the transition. Which PROVES that it is much easier to hate/vilify people we don't know as PET did than people we do. PET admits he had never met/talked to Obama b efore the initial meeting. Now he calls him all the time for guidance/counsel/advice. That is one good thing he is giving us providing he keeps it up. Maybe folks will take it to heart and stop hating people they don't know. One can only hope. Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday to thee StuB! :)

I'm not sure whether or not you are directing that shot me Stu. I have never hated anyone or anything in my entire life. I have said that on Answerbag constantly through the years and I've said it here on Answermug constantly as well. Do I dislike? Yes. Do I distrust? Yes. Do I have preferences? Of course I do. Do I hate? No. Never have. Never will. I also have never been jealous of anyone or envied anyone. So shoot me. Happy Sunday to thee SB! :)

No Rosie, that wasn't directed at you! I know you're not a hateful person. I was thinking off all the folks - admittedly some on this site - who decided to hate Trump as soon he was elected, just as Trump (apparently) used to hate President Obama even though they'd never met.
@StuB -- I don't hate Trump. That would be like hating a shark for being what it is.
Or, if you're familiar with the parabale of the Frog and the Scorpion, not only is Trump the Scorpion, but his supporters don't seem to mind being stung. In fact, they are ***cheering*** to be stung. When he stings them, his supporters say "Wow, what a brilliant and positive creature he is!"
It's the dimwits who didn't recognize Der Pumpkinfuhrer is a Scorpion and continue to cheer on the stinging that I dislike.
