to be honest I think the Beatles are severely over rated in general. They were good in their early R&R days but the late 60's they kinda turned to garbage IMHO.
John Lennon said "We are more popular than Jesus" . So people who hated the Beatles just loved that excuse to denigrate them. But John just was just stating an ironic fact.

Name a popular song? And then you pick something remote from years ago? That is not a popular song any longer. A popular song is one in which present day people can relate to. This song was great in its day because there was simply nothing else to compare it to. It was very catchy, and you have to take in the light of what boring crap was on the radio, all samey-same crappola. Most people today coming up do not even know a thing about the Beatles' songs. They cannot relate. They want hip hop and screaming and lots of noise and sex. (snore) All those popular songs suck the wazoo.
Most songs that other people delight in are not my thing either. I did love that song, but they played it TOO much. I cannot even hear it when it is on, because I just automatically tune it out. OH that again. That is all I think and then it is gone from my mind.
How about Indian Lake by the Cowsills. I hated the Cowsills. UGH. I mean if we are going to hail back to the era when Hey Jude was popular. That was a stinker to me. They had no idea what they were singing about when they did this one. I doubt if there was a hippy among those bubble gum posers.
Work by Rihanna. Dear God, shoot me now I hate that song... It is a good relation to life though - All it is is work work work work and the rest is incomprehensible. Bam!
I'm unsure if I've heard this song until now - - I think I only knew it by title -- but add me to the list of those who like it! Ha! :)
~ hey, speaking of music, I'm on page 195 of "Beach Music!" I'm really enjoying it!
