They will be much better off, but it will not happen for Americans, Obama wants to lead the EU.

  • The 24th of June should go down in British history as our independence day. Free from the tyranny of unelected bureaucrats.

It's going to rock the markets for sure, but I believe the U.K. will be just fine. At least we'll do just as well as any other country. Europe and the world are facing massive economic problems. Another crash worse than 2008 is coming. Some may blame Brexit for triggering it. In my opinion a collapse is inevitable anyway.

This fight was not about short term economics but the future of the U.K. I would rather the U.K. burnt to the ground and we built a free nation from the ash, than be part of the E.U. It's an incredibly corrupt institution.

I can only hope that Brexit emboldens other nations to do the same. With luck we can cause a full collapse of the E.U. and build a better future of independent sovereign nations.

The EU protected our rights. Now they are in the hands of Cameron's successor, whoever that is, and Corbyn, which is the proverbial rock and a hard place. The economy will be screwed, our power and influence in the world will be much less, and the process of adjustment alone will set us back a long way. I hope I'm wrong about the economy. I won't be about our rights or position in the world.

You believe you will loose your rights? How so? I would think have control of your own country would give you more rights not less.
I do hope for your sake you're wrong.

Because Cameron didn't give a rat's arse about our rights, whoever replaces him is not likely to, Corbyn doesn't, and the EU has a lot of protections in place for member countries.

You only very selfishly care about rights when it comes to your own. Obviously you have no respect for the wishes of your fellow "subjects". In fact, I saw a post from you the other day trashing the US and our Rights. What a hypocrite!

There are various EU protections for rights. It is fairly strict in the social conditions member states are required to meet. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn talked a lot about workers rights in the referendum campaign, such as the working time directive, limiting the number of hours one can work in a day. The European Court of Human Rights has been the highest court we could appeal to; the last resort after appealing to our own House of Lords failed. While its judgements were not actually legally binding on the UK, it is highly embarrassing to be found guilty by the court, and not helpful in a member countries relationship with the EU. I will post a link to the Wikipedia article on the court. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Court_of_Human_Rights

The world is in too much shock right now to even try and figure that one out.    I wonder what they were thinking when they voted for this idiocy.  I don't even know if it IS idiocy . Neither does anyone else, it seems.

The Dow Jones is down 500 points.  That is not a good thought.

The Brits better come to the terms with the fact that HIGHLY EMBARRASING does not cut it when there are hundeds of people involved and each one has 8 fingers and two thumbs to use to point and blame someone else with.

What do you think? That the UK leaves the European Union. Ask an obvious question, get an obvious answer.

President Obama doesn't want anything of the sort - you're just spewing biased nonsense. He's looking forward to retiring in January.

  • F*** the stock market. This was about democracy. This was about getting our nation back from an unaccountable unelected elite.

Would you like to be in an American continental union with 80% of your laws made by people you didn't elect?

Europe has always been a politically unstable basket case. Many European nations swing between far left and far right governments.

If the Europeans want to abandon democracy that's their business but they sure as hell aren't dragging Britain down with them. Britain will be a free and independent nation by the ballot box or the cartridge box.

UK will have to leave the Europeam Union, and re-negotiate a lot of trade agreements.

Like it used to be.  I have screamed and preached my whole adult life that countries need to retain their sovereignty 100%,, borders are to be protected, and global thinking and diversity are country killers.  I hope the UK did this in time to save itself.  I just read that right now almost half of the babies born in the UK are not of white English parents.  This is the result of unfettered immigration invasion.  It's happening here too.  I am praying for improvement here in America with the next election.

and Italy.  Then others will probably follow.  Maybe Americans will get a clue about where our government has taken us and realize to put on the brakes before it's too late.

Why do you think you need the corrupt EU to protect your rights?  Which rights?  The Western economies are in panic mode but it will all buff.  I am proud of the English people for saying "We want our country back."  I mean that!!  I want mine back too.

  • Short term global instability, diminishing slowly, by which I mean a few years.  More than that it's impossible to say with any accuracy, since the future in such a wide-ranging decision will depend on the reactions and decisions of many nations both within and outside the EU.
