  • No seriously.   I'm not trying to act high and mighty,  I just wasn't exposed to seeing them often enough to have much reference.

I don't watch actual TV very often so the TV adds around now I wouldn't notice.  I do all my watching over the internet and use add blockers.  So TV commercial references often go right over my head. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 6, 2016 8:25 AM MST

Hmm. That wasn't a nice way talking about a human being doing a professional job she has been chosen for, and payed for. I haven't seen the ads and cannot tell you my personal view on their looks but I am sure they have been chosen very carefully by the people doing their jobs.

  • If you  never, in your life , have found someone  unattractive  in looks  . you  may cast the first  stone  .

I didn't  name any names  , nor post any  pictures  . and was more-so a jab at the  company .

so  who  is  it mean to  ?

    nobody .

and  how do you  know they are human  ?  ,, they could be aliens amung  ius   ..  :-o

It's mean to all of the models as you made it a general remark about the models used to look good. You did not say anything about it not covering all of them. Your jab at the company is on the expenses of all the female models they use. That is mean in my perception. Have a lovely day.

  • Whatever,,  you say . (or want it   to  mean in your  mind ).

but  , before you go  please   tell  us  . if you  have never thought of anyone as  unattractive  ..    or   even  commented  on it   .
if you say  no   .  i call bullshit  .       cause  you   hinted  above about    telling  your  personal view on their looks  if you saw the ads .

hence you can drop the holier than thou  act  .

if you  havent  . then  go  ahead  .. ignore  my explanation  again   , and   call me mean . This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 6, 2016 11:00 AM MST

Your jab at the company is on the expenses of all the female models they use. To answer your question, I have not made a public question about anyone unattractive because of their looks, this includes single persons as a total group. Do i find some more attractive than others? Sure. We all have preferences. Stick your "holier than.." the same place as your BS calling. I don't care. Don't like me telling you how your question can be perceived by women? Well... It's my perception as I told you. It won't change because you call me holy or call BS. I'm not buying in on manipulations like that. Take care. Bye.

  • i  never said   just  "in a question"  , or  just  online  even  .   you are not only avoiding the question .  but  attempting to change it .

tell  us  . if you  have ever thought of anyone as  unattractive  ..    or     commented  on it   .  ever   ? This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at December 6, 2016 11:34 AM MST

No I'm not. I'm bringing it back to context. I'm NOT telling you that you cannot find anyone unattractive. Sorry, not buying in on cheap hits. Make your trix soemwhere else than with me. Over and out. Ciao.

  • It's mean to women in general, to make a disparaging comment based on someone looks. Especially when we don't have the privy of seeing your looks.
I assume everybody has the right to be any way they want to. But to the question of who is it being mean towards. It's mean toward all women.

Tennent's did a good line in beer cans until the PC brigade put a stop to it.

The idea may have been to get you to drink a few and let the beer goggles do the rest.

  • Well, yes, but I wonder if their attraction was linked more to my youthful (and lustful) eyes than their actual beauty?

When I was a kid barber shops habitually had girly magazines to read while we were waiting. We loved those magazines which were innocently tame by today's standards, and the fact that all the interesting bits were air-brushed out didn't diminish that interest one whit.

I have noted over the years models are not always chosen because they are conventionally pretty, but because they are striking and unusual.

The idea is to sell potential customers on the concept, "THIS is what attractive is now. If you don't look like this, then you are NOT attractive and you need to buy our product so you will look more like this."

While I haven't seen the ads you speak of, I, too, have seen advertisments, magazine cover photos, and the like where I thought, "She doesn't strike me as particularly attractive. Why did they choose her as a model?"

These trends tend to be cyclical, so I'm sure you'll see Cover Girl models more to your liking again in the future.
