Would you ever be part of a religion where you could no longer assocate with family or friends who were not in the religion?

  • Oh wow.  That is rough.  Happy to hear she raised great kids.  Really that's what matters most.

She was always a "kind" person.  I think that is what really mattered in the end.  I know some highly religious people that aren't very nice at all.  I never understood how they could claim such devotion, yet be such shits in life.

Oh, I have been down and out and luckily, never fell into a crazy church.  I think being exposed to a traditional church in my early years was a good thing.

NO.  Years ago I did belong to a church who told me I'd go to hell if I didn't convert my family And friends to THEIR church. I left that church and religious teachings.  I am a Believer, just not a religious person.

Exactly what it should be all about.  A church should be there to teach, not dictate.

I have learned enough about religions over the years that I don't want anything to do with any of them.

    Absolutely not
    no way
    no how
    not now
    not ever
    ...Religions  are weird
plus what you describe is bonkers...
    ...Bottom line?
    Religions create confusion
    and will not give you
    a direct experience of God.
    ...and that's our basic foundation,
what we need to experience and know.
    ...God is within you
    know your Self...
    ---end of preaching---
    ...LOL

It's unfortunate that you have not found the right religion yet.
Confusion does not come from God.
Knowledge and understanding are made for the mind like water is made for truth (CS Lewis).
Truth exists and is the proper object of study.
    Please keep searching.

No way and I'd tell them to go to H - E - Double Hockey Sticks if they asked me do do that. Cheers!
