I like that stuff too. Nope I never had an egg soda. I been to an old style soda fountain that served them though in Adirondacks once. I didn't ask about them and just saw it on the board they offered them. I guess it is supposed to make the soda creamy and is usually flavored like cream soda. Neither characteristic appeals to me.
I did try rye cocktail with egg white in it and it was vile.
I know it tastes terrific. It is animal fat and is very bad for you. I don't know how bad the other stuff is, but Lard is bad for your arteries, to say the least.
Haven't you heard, they are changing their minds about lard. I've seen several recipes lately calling for lard. I had not seen the word 'lard' in 20 years or so.
We're going back to eating the way we ate when I was growing up. Let the government stay out of our kitchens. Eating pure and simple foods with sweets and fats in moderation has always worked. That just takes the steam out of several agencies and the whole huge ridiculous "weight loss" industry. It can't happen soon enough.
I know I have a fondue thing in a box I've never opened, was given to me as a gift...But it says to put oil in it and cook meat. I want the kind that melts cheese:) it might do that aswell... Maybe I should open it then :)
If you can cook meat, you can cook anything else. Cheelse melts at a rather low temp. So have fun. Melt chocolate too and dip strawberries and cookies.
