Good for her that's she's finally coming back nearer proper weight, but I can't understand how she survived, either.
I recall a newspaper report not long ago about the death of a man so grossly obese they had to alter his house to remove him, in a coffin so large and heavy he had to be taken to his funeral on a lorry with a hydraulic crane, like a crated-up piece of industrial equipment. No dignity in being that sort of size alive, and none in death.
What I don't understand is how anyone can get that large. I would think if she had gained 50 pounds she'd figure out she was on a destructive path and get help at that point or sooner. How it continued on and on and on is puzzling and disconcerting to me. How her loved ones could accommodate her by providing food. I mean at some point she would have unable to go out to the store so they would have had to do it for her. It was like reading a Ripley's Believe it or Not for me. Thank you for your reply Durdle and Happy Tuesday to thee! :) I wonder what quality of life the man whom you described above enjoyed. Clearly food was pleasurable but I wonder if anything else could have been?

I think with someone of extreme obesity so they literally cannot do anything, eating becomes the only pleasure left.
There was a bizarre forum on EP about over-eating, by people who took some sort of pleasure in becoming desperately overweight. They seemed to vye with each other in their weights. Tragic that anyone could do such a thing.
I believe I heard/read about something like that a long time ago Durdle. It is hard for me to believe that anyone would purposely do that to themselves. Consciously, willingly and perhaps even joyfully. Humans are strange creatures. Some of them support that which
is out to destroy them. Go figger! :(
