  • That would sort of fit with my general belief system... i think we get back what we throw out... so if we are nice we get nice back, if we are shallow and selfish that's what we get back..

I also believe that life holds wonderful things in store for us if we are only open to seeing them...  we are all presented with so many opportunities and chances... but we don't always take them...  We need to do a lot more seeing on that front!

We need to learn to do more seeing I think

For me Life is about the 3 L's: live, love and learn.

I believe we see what we look for in other persons and situations. If we look for just bad, it will be all we see and what we get confirmed. We do not really do any efforts looking for any other. If we only look for the good sides, it will be all we notice first hand. We will idealize and put on a pedestal in a false light. Neither is right or wrong, life holds it all. If we keep our minds open, and try staying aware about this, we might be more able to see things in a broader perspective, rather than a narrow-minded one. Hmm.

    Obviously.

But we may also add that if one is enlightened, one knows to keep searching until that prejudice is overcome and we see things objectively.  That oftentimes is where the answer to what we are seeking lies.   The ego is not our friend.  It protects itself with many barriers of denial to make itself feel important.   When we look beyond the usual, petty and mundane, we oftentimes find gems of wisdom that are priceless because they make us learn and grow and change.  The ego does not like change.

  • It's a stifling, ugly world with pockets of unimaginable beauty.  That's duality my friends.

  • You can choose to see one or just the other but either way you're not seeing the whole picture and missing out on both if you do.   You can't see all the ugly by ignoring the beauty and you'll never see half the beauty by staying blind to the ugly.
