There were no adult men on camera at all, and the only boys in the episode were seven months old. Adult men were mentioned, there were phone conversations with men on the other end of the line but their voices were not heard, one man was even alluded to as waiting outside of a residence, etc. All of the speaking parts were portrayed by women and young girls.
I didn't catch any of this until the closing credits were rolling, and all of the parts were portrayed by women.
The story line had nothing at all to do with either the presence or the absence of men.
"The Lonely Hours" originally aired March 8, 1963.
Wasnt ol' Uncle Alfred a clever one?
