PM Cameron resigns after the Brexit wins. He wanted to stay in the EU. Poor sport or doing what's best for UK?

Says he is not the best person to negotiate for UK as they move forward with removing themselves from the EU.

  • Being a 'sport' has no place in politics.  :)

Were he to stay on his presence would almost certainly be a factor (and very likely a limiting factor) in any negotiations, which is not desirable.

However, I should point out that his action is also the best thing for the Conservative party.  I wouldn't be surprised if it is this that has motivated Cameron's decision, rather than anything else.

Great news, a great blow to the New World order globalist tyranny. People are having an awakening, this is a good day. A beautiful step forward to individualism and libery, the UK has taken. They are saying NO to group thought and government regulation, this a joyous day in the world.

He is doing what is best i guess... How can you have credibility when you have accused the people who support leaving the EU as being haters and fools and then see the majority of your people vote to leave.. How could a person say in power after that???

  • The U.K. still has Europe and Europe still has the U.K.. The only thing that has changed is that the U.K. is no longer beholden to unelected bureaucrats.

The only reason why trade would be disrupted is if the E.U. is vengeful, mean spirited  and vindictive and seeks to punish us for leaving. If they are so nasty, why would we want to be in union with them? If they aren't, there is no problem.

The reason you lost this fight is because millions of decent people are sick of being smeared as racist, xenophobic, bigoted etc etc for voicing legitimate concerns.

Germany will be an Islamic state within 25 years if the far left insanity of multiculturalism isn't squashed. If they want to commit cultural suicide that's their business, but they sure as hell aren't taking me down with them.

Of course he's a poor sport, all Prime Ministers are. They are a right bunch of babies when they don't get their own way. David Cameron is the last person who would do what's best for the UK. He is worse, if possible, than Margaret Thatcher and John Major-Disaster.

The Prime Minister in parliamentary systems is NOT the same as the US President.

He largely serves at the pleasure of the Members of Parliament in his party (and/or allied parties in a coalition). If Cameron did not resign, he likely would have been asked to step down by his party, and then forced to step down if he refused.

Those who have commented indicating they think Cameron should stay on and negotiate the terms of the Brexit I think are nuts. Why would you make someone negotiate on behalf of a policy they do not support?  What possible good would that do?

Imagine you wanted to buy a new car but DIDN'T want to purchase a DynaDuelJetFire 5000. Why should you have to negotiate with a DynaDuelJetFire 5000 dealer to purchase the car you don't want? As punishment for your insolence? Get a clue, people.

  • Perhaps it is a legitimate concern.
