    Actually there is usually something missing in your diet when you have a weird craving that the craved thing has in it. I know pregnant women who have craved cigarette ashes and even dirt. There told them there was something they needed in there. 
    Ot was funny the lady who told me about the dirt craving was a very  "girly girl" the idea of her eating dirt was crazy.

    The body knows. There have been cases when someone was lost in the wilderness and had caught fish to eat. But the person who normally would eat the side meat. Actually craved things like the eyeball and other parts that we normally disregard. These parts have different nutrients in them than regular fish meat.
