  • We find that by leaving out the U, we save time. We took it even further and we nw tlk like ths. It sves so mch tme apprntly to leave off ltters, so we hve mch mre tme for loling and jking.

  • Most of my threads were :p I really don't wanna talk old site cos I'm over it. But I heard you and lots others went to bat for me so thank you :) that DS lies her face off.... FYI she is a chick and her name is racheal .... I so thought was a guy till yesterday ...That's all I have say about that

    It's a disgusting letter. That's what it is! Who wants the letter "u" in their lives. I'll tell you what! Go up to anybody you want in real life and ask them what their favorite letter is. I will guarantee you...NOBODY IS GOING TO SAY "U". 

    I could knock the letter "u" out cold in the first rd. Spark-out. LET'S GO CHAMP!!

  • It's because Americans don't sufficiently value astrology. If they did they'd know all the people born in April (Aries, the Ram) would spend their formative years looking for U's (ewes). So, in order to discredit astrology, they drop them out.

    In Australia we not only use the British spelling and include U where it belongs, but we even give it more weight when using the vowels in second person plural form. That is, A, E, I, O and Youse. 

    Wasn't it GBS who said that England and America were two countries divided by a common language?

  • Good to know. My final job was working for the public service in Sydney and, in our office, two words that were overused to death were "youse" and "criterions" (rather than criteria). Don't ask about criteria -- it was kind of bureaucratic-speak.
