I don't think that the "Like" button in AnswerMug gets used enough. Do you? ~

Most of us who came from the old AM are still accustomed to not having a like button. I also think that it's not in an intuitive spot on questions and want to move it. So, yes, I agree. It's not being used as much as it could be, but it's been getting more use over time.

Thank you. I wasn't aware that it wasn't on the old AM. I didn't even know there was an old AM.

Wha...? The site you kept getting redirected to after we started using this one? Anything before September? O_o

I guess there were "likes" there, but I think they were only on questions and they weren't tracked. You couldn't like a response.

It gets more and more obvious how you drove Grilly away from here. Oomph.

How much evidence do I have to keep posting before you accept that Grilly is A-Ok?   Grrrrrrrr.

    Just look at that smile!

  • I'm an FNG here but I try to click on "Like" on every answer and reply that I actually like. I know some people are really hung up on that so they will get on the leaderboards but I've been on many sites that don't have those. I see it as a sign of respect for others. Some great questions, answers, and replies here.

  • I like things if I like the post or like the person, sometimes just because someone is paying attention to me.

Just because you don't get likes doesn't mean the like button isn't heavily used.

  • I agree. While I certainly am not in this for votes, I think voting is nice. I have seen  quite a few people that ask questions,  but do not even vote for half-decent answers, at best, that they receive. I just find it the mannerly thing to do, as manners are VERY important to me. Even if one isn't a voter, in general, at least he/she should vote for answers he/she receives, as long as the answers are at least half-decent.
I have noticed, also, that many people won't vote for one's answer, if they've answered the same question. I see myself voted for, sometimes, but much less, where I've answered  the same question. Obviously, it's a competition, for many people. Shame. I sometimes am the only person not voted for, because I vote for the others, more than most people do, I guess.
TOO MUCH voting for someone, though, may seem stalkerish?

    Thank you.
Personally, I don't consider pressing the "Like" button to be casting a vote or voting, but I do understand your points.
