    No. Many use shotguns, air guns, hand guns, long bows, cross bows, compound bows....

    Usually..  Because thats the main hunting weapon..   Some hunters hunt with bows and crossbows but 99% hunt with rifles..

    Shotguns.. Less need to be an accurate shooter but only effective at shorter ranges..

    Air guns.. Cheaper to use.. But only for short range and only effective for small animals..

    Hand guns.. No advantages.. No real hunter will have a hand gun as their primary hunting weapon..

    Long Bows / compound bows / cross bows.. Silent weapon..  The loud noise of a gun will cause a lot of animals in the area to be alerted to the presence of a hunter.
