He was at Spring training during the time streaking was popular and one ran across the field and went over the centerfield wall. His friend asked him if it was a man or a woman. He said, " Well, I don't know, they were wearing a bag over their head."
That's Yogi. I don't know if anybody will quote this one but he once sdaid, "You know, I didn't really say all those things I said." And for once he was pretty right. His good buddy Joe Geragiola was responsible for a lot of them and used to blame Yogi for a joke. It's nice to have friends. :)
Yes you are correct Didge. Their families lived across the street from each other. To give you a better understanding of how close they were, I found this in case you are interested.
Much appreciated, Harry. That photograph at the top of the two old men is poignant. And the final sentence was an eye opener for me. I thought he had been named after Yogi Bear; I didn't realise that Yogi Bear had been named after him. (I bookmarked the page so that I can come back to it again.)
