Blacks are 2.5 times more apt to be shot and killed than whites. Does that bother you or do you figure it's because blacks are so bad and whites are so good?

First of all, I'd sure like to see a source for that... Blacks, as well as Hispanics are part of the lower socio-economic group. Poverty and crime usually go hand in hand in the inner city, unfortunately.

It bothers me. But people who don't know how is to be black in a country and suffer from centuries of abuse, will not believe you because they have no empathy. They think everything is wonderful... as long as they're not surround by black and have to see what we go through everyday. They don't want to believe that we are dying by their hands because that would mean they would have to instropect themselves and the system that they live in. But no one wants to do that because it would make them too uncomfortable... It's better to not think about the pain other people go through as long as they're out of sight and out of mind. but...I'm wrong because they think of themselves as "individuals". Thinking this way is so that they can escape from accountability for the white supremacy system that was built since the native were kicked out of their land, to the backbreaking slave labor and the rush to pillage and colonize every inch of the earth. How can you have the constitution that was made a long time ago but believe want a group of people to forget they were never meant to be included in that constitution?

How does that stat change if you take out gang shootings?  Saddly most of the shootings are in cities like Chicago because of gang violence.

I think it's a reflection of the fact that conservatives are more likely to go into law enforcement, and conservatives are afraid of black people.

Since you've premise is based on segregation I'm curious as to which "race" is more likely to be doing that shooting, blacks or whites?.

What's the breakdown between those doing the shooting being members of law enforcement, innocent civilians defending themselves from violence perpetrated by a hostile attacker and hostile attackers themselves?

And what's the breakdown between blacks being shot by police officers compared to whites being shot by police officers?

More whites are killed by cops each year than blacks. It's only the black killings that the media likes to post.

Well at least the percentages should be the same. Remember cops have the legal right and a license to murder because they do it all the time and get away with it. It's jus that the blacks they murder are unarmed. I guess the solution is to arm all blacks. Thank you for your answer pearl and Happy Sunday.

Maybe if you looked at the killings in the context of history, you MIGHT be able to understand them..  But, if you think racism is OVER, as many do, then you'll be confused by them.

I in no way believe racism is over. I see it in action everyday. All I'm saying is there are more unarmed whites killed by police than any other race, and that doesn't seem to get any media attention. I'm not trying to trivialize the cop on black killings at all, it's all horrible and something needs to be done about it. I just wish the media would cover all of it equally and fairly, that's all I'm saying.

Oh please. Even if that statistic is right, which I doubt, there are many factors involved. I don't think anybody thinks everything is perfect. We have a black president, blacks in government, owning, running companies,ect. but people like you won't let go of the past.

Rosie, what bothers me is that most people don't take the time to investigate the national records to see if their "so-called statistics" are actually accurate. The statistics that are being roundly ignored by a media eager to push the lies that ooze out of Al Sharpton’s mouth on a daily basis: The real statistics show that cops kill whites at almost double the rate that they kill blacks. Do the research for yourself Rosie.

Something ridiculous like 97,98 percent of  the black people that are murdered are killed by another black man and by someone they  know.  This is a good lesson for choosing your friends carefully.
