Doesn't it strike you as something so inane as to be inexplicable. Of course, he IS nuts. But he was smart enough to plan this thing and then something happens and it gets all messed up at the last minute. I think he got a case of the nerves. He almost made it, but he was so addicted to failure, it was never going to happen. He was almost there. He could have made it to the finish line but he caved.

I don't quite see how a 19-year-old UK visitor who overstayed his visa (i.e. became an illegal immigrant) and was living in his car is necessarily going to inspire anyone.
Given that Trump is such a polarizing figure, it would not surprise me if there were other attempts on his life, but I don't think the young Brit who tried to grab a police officer's gun will have much influence.

A lot of people think it's just a big joke, an attempt on the life of the Republican Presidential candidate is funny to them. But just let someone throw a bucket of water at Hil-LIAR-y and then see how they react . . .
I'm not surprised at all. All you have to do is look at their current attitudes and the way they stereotype conservatives on this site and other places. Most people forget there's a whole political spectrum out there ranging from different classifications to political parties. it isn't all black and white. You know who thinks in black and white? Extremists.
Let me tell you something about extremists... left and right. Extremism is hidden in every day behavior. This is why it is hard to spot and "why" most people shrug it off for the most part unless it's an "exaggerated" action. It is an extreme action of an every day normal behavior that we all do. Religion, politics, other polarizing issues... but the extreme forms of it.
Technically people don't have to kill someone to be extreme and think in extremes.
So yes I think others will most likely try.
They seem to make the nut some kind of martyr even so on this site. A kid cuts off his hand for raising it to the wrong religious question and he's a hero to his people, a guy tries to kill Trump and instead of condemning him, he is being cheered on.
When if it was Hillary or Bernie people would talk about how disgusting of an act it was. Bernie especially. People would be on it in a minute.
Sick how that works. The only true act is in the act of self defense.
This is why assassination attempts are kept secret when possible.
