Up until about year 1900 it was almost impossible to be anti-immigrant, the US was just too big and 'unused', so more people were obviously needed.
But once the coast to coast railroads were in place that changed, quite fast actually, and the 'imported' railroad building workers were the first victims of anti immigrant persecution, should they be sent home? ...
By the way, I do not think Trump is a homophobe, he is bright enough to realize that gay guys means more girls for him to pursue. I rather think his homophobic statements are more for his followers who have not even figured that out.
LOL I love your question, I could love you forever just for making me laugh so hard :) It's not for me to comment on other prezes but I would have to say that Trump is way more stoopid, way more idiotic, way more offensive, bullying and hideous than any other I have seen... I kinda liked Bush, he was an idiot but a puppet idiot.. they are less harmful :P

well one often feels one can play with the language when one has sufficient mastery of it.. so I am allowed to call it stoopid if i wish :P and I am sure there was no intent to insult me and call me stupid there, I am sure you didn't mean that at all now did you. fwiw we all thought he was dimmer than a 5w light bulb.. I call it as i see.. I made no inference about his accent.. but what he said was stupid.. it just was, he made so many gaffs and made himself look stupid.. I've no beef with his accent or politics either way, indeed as a Brit I LOVE southern accents, and just about any American accent. so in this case you were, as we say, barking up the wrong tree.
