It could, but I'm sure that's not what they meant, if it isn't true they should be ashamed of themselves and sued.

  • She's probably going to lose the case. Not sure why she's even wasting her time.

That's what I think too. It's like hiring a Temp to fill a slot at work. You have a job for them to do and you hire them to do it. Thank you for your reply pearl! :)

  • If you're referring to the Maryland blogger, it was settled out of court and he has made a written apology, and there was apparently some money involved as part of the settlement. There is a pending suit against the online Daily Mail which also printed a similar story, based on rumor (of course). Would you like it if someone wrote about your past as an escort if it wasn't true?

You didn't answer the question I asked. Do all escorts provide sex to their clients or are some simply arm candy companions for specific events? Do you know? If I were a paid COMPANION providing company for someone who needed a date and nothing untoward happened why would I be offended? Now if it were not true I'd say I was never an escort. If it were true where's the problem? I don't know about escorts because I have never been paid by anyone for my company but I expect there are plenty of folks who needed dates for something and hired someone to go with them. Just like businesses hire TEMPS when neeeded. Why can't you hire a date when needed? I see nothing wrong with that. Do you? Thank you for your reply TE and Happy Wednesday to thee! :)

  • No I wouldn't but slander and libel are two of the hardest things to prove in court. The blogger should have taken it to court because he likely would have payed nothing.
There's a very narrow set criteria for it to legally be slander and/or libel and to prove that it is you practically need a confession. It has to be proven that you knew it was false, that you were trying to ruin their name, and it has to be proven that the statement was meant literally.   Those are hard to prove in court.

No an escort is a nicer way to say a prostitute who works for a company. This link in explaining how to become makes it quite clear.
