Glamour or natural -- which do you prefer? Why?

  • Hard choice ... sometimes glamor helps and sometimes it doesn't.

  • I saw this pic somewhere the other day. Actually I prefer the pic on the left. She looks more human in it. In the made-up pic she doesn't seem quite herself.

  • Yes, you saw it the other day. The picture on the left is "The Real Deal" ... which do you think she prefers?

  • Hard to say. She put herself in the situation of being spruced up so she probably prefers the other.

  • At least both pictures are "street-legal."  Some glamour belongs only on a stage somewhere. :)

Natural, doesn't mean we can spread some glitter on occasions though. Lol.

  • Didge... i think it's liking asking flat paint or gloss ..
they both have their places  ... one thing i do know is that flat paint is easier to apply and maintain lol... if you get my drift :)

  • WW that was a rather heart felt bit  of self analysis ... I thank you for your honesty... But I agree that yes, we are often our own worst enemies in many of the things we do.

  • It can happen that way. It's so easy to see your own faults. Who could be more aware of them? But it's unfair.

I remember once when I shaved for a job interview one of my "friends" said that I was the only man he knew who could shave off a grey beard and look older. :( This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 17, 2017 6:27 PM MST

Hi Didge~ I forgot you asked this question.  My notifications just started coming back up again. I've been trying to get caught up.  You could probably have shaved your beard and grown a 5 o'clock shadow since the last time I saw you.

I can't imagine you without a beard.  My dad shaved his mustache once (the key word being, once, ) and my mom refused to go out with him in public until he grew it back.  He looked 18 and she thought she might get in trouble for robbing the cradle! I was too young when that incident happened.  I've always known him with a mustache.  In turn,  if you were to post a picture without your beard, I would probably not make the correlation.  It suits you and goes totally with your look and your whole being.  :) :)

I think I fall in the same category as most everyone above.
There is a time and a place.

I like to glamourize for my husband and myself.
I like to look nice when I go out.  I don't make it a glamour ordeal but I do take the time to brush my hair and teeth, put on lipstick and show that I care.

I like to see both on people.  In the right place and time, it is great to see people totally glammed up!!  I love fashion and makeup. Other than that I like the person to be happy however they present themselves to others.

  • This is a dreadfully unkind thing to say but when you said that you brush your hair and teeth I had visions of teeth with long hair on them. You're an interesting lady, Merlin.

One of the many reasons I learned to french braid.  See?  This is why I am very good a french kissing and french braiding all kinds of hair on my head.  You should see my eyebrows!
Now that I know I've given you nightmares, I'll stop!!  Giggles!!

Sweet Dreams my friend! ;) :)
