Dorothy Kilgallen was a popular newspaper columnist when some of us were young. She had a radio show where she was on with I think her husband I remember I listened to more than once when I was very young. Think also she was on one of those TV panel quiz shows.
Not kidding. I don't know the names of 95% of the newer celebs. Which means, of course, they could walk through my front door and I woulldn't recognize any of them.
So true. We get to a point where it just no longer matters to us. If it really ever did. Most of the movies and TV shows I watched and music I listened to were all before 1990 and since then there have been so many generations of them and they seem to all look the same. Oh they have their own lives to lead and am sure they don't care about me. Winona Ryder and Lindsay Lohan were I think two of them. But even they may be years ago by now. Johnny Depp? Really I guess I am still on Bill Cosby and Marvin Gaye and Kate Jackson and Redd Foxx. James Garner. And I think you are older than me. I just turned 61 (Happy Birthday to me).
What is the point of it? Like one person is more interesting and happy than another? I want to be in the body of someone who has had a great time. Anyone. If you can find him/her, let me know. I think we are all created equally as far as ups and downs are concerned and if we manage to have a good life this time, we need only blink and the next one will be fraught will obstacles.
The only thing I have heard that makes sense, is not wanting a thing and accepting and treating whatever happens as if you had planned it and are ready and willing to go the distance and do the best job possible in each circumstance.
I'd like to be a person like that.
