Well as an outsider looking in.. I think at the current moment in time the BLM movement is having the most damaging affect to the unity within US culture..

In the long term Islam has the potential to do the greatest damage to US culture..

I don't think the Illegal immigrants will do much damage to the USA..

So you are another one who thinks the Black Lives Matter   folks are damaging and destructive. Imagine that? Surprised I am not. Thank you for your reply Adam. Typical Rudy Giuliani Conservative. Saying "black lives matter" is racist according to him. Whatta guy! Blame the victim. Typical.  :(

I know it doesn't exactly fit your narrative, but you forgot white men on that list. They seem to be the biggest boogie man these days.

I got over the bogeyman when I was about 8 years old ...Obviously Radical Islamic groups like ISIS are very dangerous. BLM is just a civil rights  movement... Illegal Immigrants are hard working people who want to keep a low profile.

We have to love ALL people. God want us to pray for those who are our enemies, not be scared. I love all people, terrorists too. I pray for them, the police, black people who have been mistreated, our sad nation who can't empathize with blacks, we all, everyone needs prayer. Everyone needs to be more loving, not scared. God is waiting for us to love our neighbors.

  • Great point. The Corporations that deal in greed, oppression, environmental mayhem, and international conflict are not run by Isis, They are run by big powerful American middle age white Men. Good point.

He will wait a VERY long time Carazaa. Many people much prefer to hate than love. They keep proving it repeatedly. It  turns them on. They off on it! Sadly. Thank you for your reply! :)

For the vast majority of Americans, being afraid of ISIS/BLM/Illegal immigrants makes about as much sense as being afraid of carnies.

Carnies? Zombies?  Extra-terrestrial beings? Things that go  bump in the night? Mahalo for your reply OS. I  don't really understand  it.

Here are the 10 leading causes of death in the United States (data from 2014)

    Heart disease: 614,348
    • Cancer: 591,699
    • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 147,101
    • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 136,053
    • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 133,103
    • Alzheimer's disease: 93,541
    • Diabetes: 76,488
    • Influenza and pneumonia: 55,227
    • Kidney disease: 48,146
    • Intentional self-harm (suicide): 42,773

Those 10 things account for about 75% of all deaths in the US. In comparision...

Number of murders commited by blacks in 2014: about 2,700

Number of murders commited by Latinos in 2014 (whether illegal immigrant or not): about 600

Number of US terrorism victims in 2014: 19 (16 of whom were outside the US at the time)

As I said above, treating BLM/ISIS/illegal immigrants as the Big Boogieman makes as much sense (statistically speaking) as being afraid of carnies.

  • I think ISIS terrorists are a real issue across a wide swathe of the world.

They're worst in the Middle East, but their presence, actions, and publicly stated intentions are a serious cause for concern.

But I'd pick global warming as the biggest bogey of all. It threatens the quality of all life on the planet, even if in some places we still can't see it. It's not one bogey man, it's the whole edifice of multinationals and consumerism, and living beyond our earthly means.

You do realize that your words will attract those who SAY that it's  ( Global Warmig) is all a liberal hoax. When I've asked why I never get a logical substantive answer. It has to with spending for frivolous things etcetera etcetera etcetera. It has to do with lining pockets and pulling the wool over people's eyes etcetera etcetera etcetera. Out of all the words they use none make any sense to me. Thank you for your thoughtful reply hartfire!  :)
