The liberals want my gun. The conservatives want my porn. I'm starting to feel like a victim here. :'(

  • Liberals want your gun?! Why? Are you a felon or mentally unstable?

That's the only reason why anyone would want your gun, unless your black because gun rights don't extend to black people...

Well some of those 'creative' positions are downright dangerous if someone try to copy them in real life.

Well, back in the early days of the World Wide Web, if one happened to land on a porn site (whether accidentally or deliberately), the porn site would typically open several more browser instances of other porn content without the viewer's permission.

A friend of mine who happened to have a job as a computer systems adminstrator (for a company which hosted porn sites, among other business) called that browser hijacking "the sticky chain."

So far as I know, that particular problem has been solved....;-D...

I think porn is gross.  I don't think the GOP has the right to decide what is gross for other people any more than I do.   It is disgusting behavior to me.  I hate that crap.

I think that Stealers Wheel had a song about that kind of situation.

"Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you".  ;>)

How do you objectively determine if someone is "mentally unstable" and why would that always be a determining factor?

  • Well I don't know. I'm not a Psychiatrist. Isn't that what conservatives say whenever a person with a gun shoots someone? That they are unstable?

I suppose you are in favour of persons with emotional instabilities possessing firearms...

No, conservatives don't always say that someone kills because they're mentally unstable. For example terrorists are not, generally, unstable; just REALLY committed to their "cause". And serial killers are just trying to make a buck. That's no different than Wall Street executives.

At one time homosexuality was in the Manual as a mental disorder; put there by those hallowed mental health care professionals that you refer to. Maybe they're unstable and should be denied their 2nd Amendment Rights? But do you really think that should have been in the Manual? Do you really think that even though that was a "mistake" that such will never happen again?

Mental stability is measured by many yardsticks, most based on personal prejudices founded in the customs of the parents of the beholder. For example I once knew an old hillbilly that would take home roadkill that he found and would accept roadkill from others (raccoons, 'possums, whistle-pigs, etc.) He'd throw them in his freezer without even dressing them and then cook and eat them later. That seems pretty unstable to me, at least by the way I was raised. He was also an avid hunter with a nice gun collection. Wouldn't think of harming a fly unless it could end up on his dinner table. Was he really a danger  to society?

I have never been attracted to it Sharonna. Not my cuppa tea. I think it is more a guy things. But it turns some folks on to the extent that they are addicted to it. I wonder if that is a safety valve that keeps them from raping women or does it encourage them to go out into the real world and get a real live girl? Thank you for your reply! :)

The GOP is not deciding, and they don't believe that. Notice she didn't mention who?

When I read that it was going to be part of the GOP platform I couldn't believe it. So of course I had to ask a question about it. I mean with so much at stake and so many problems and so little being done about solving any of them this is what they come up with? Amazing. Not in a good way. Thank you for your reply WW! :)
