If you were fleeing your country where would you want to go? Does the US still appeal to desperate folks with The Donald in charge? Why?

    If I had to flee, I could easily do it to Canada.  My mother's cousin did so back in the Viet Nam War era to evade the draft. He stayed there and became a productive Canadian citizen landowner and farmer. He died there several years ago.

    I'm sure I could be very happy living in Canada. In fact many years ago after my divorce I contemplated moving there with my son. To start a new chapter of my life. But in the end I guess I'm a dyed-in-the-wool American. My parents and grandparents arrived here from "the old country" and I am first generation American. I think they would have been terribly hurt. So I never did. Thank you for your reply bh! :)
