  • Swoop62, I looked the movie up...because I have not even seen the Brooke Shields version. She was only 14 then! However, that 1980 film is all over Google as THE one.

So I Googled more specifically, and sure enough Google dug up a film of that name which came out in 1949...for my childhood in the 1950's. I also noticed the movies were based on a novel that came out in 1908, hmmm...might be fun to go back and read that.

  • never knew there was another version of that and never thought about the book.  Who wrote that or I could google and take an hour or more finding it.

Me too Swoop62!  I think she had to stand in a trench to be smaller than Christopher.... Ankins?  I was very impressionable when this movie came out.  I think I still have Brooke Sheilds eye brows.  Big smiles!
It was a good movie for the age I was in. :) :)

Swoop62... WOW!  I hadn't thought of that! Now that you mention it,  I'm surprised the competitive side has not shown through.  Excellent point!  In a way, I find it very good... This post was edited by Merlin at March 5, 2017 2:36 PM MST

With sparkly confetti of blue!!  And a float with dancing penguins on one side and a very balanced passing of the egg on the other side.  Of course, the float would win the blue ribbon as well!  Hip! Hip! Hurrayyy!! :) :)

Loved Blue Velvet. Used one of the songs from it with Roy Orbison inside one of my questions today. :-) This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at June 17, 2018 3:53 PM MDT
