Hi Karen~  Wow!  Isn't that a rare type?  My dad has some sort of blood that is very rare to find and he has donated to the red cross for oooodles of years because of it.  He is 73.  It is good you know your type.  It could be very detrimental if you need a blood transplant and people didn't know.  Good for you.

I think AB- is the rarest type. I have a couple of friends who are AB+. The one donates as often as he can.

Hi Thebidd~  Thank you. :) That is awesome.  I knew it had a B in it somewhere.  That must be it.  I think it is very important to donate in any circumstance.  When people have a special need and you have it to give, it seems horrid if you don't help.  I am very glad your friends donate.  Thanks again and have a great day.  A don't mean this sarcastically.  But, a cookie or an orange for your friends with AB-.  They give them to people after they donate.  I think to raise the sugar level back up, right?  Have a great day! :) :)

  • My mom is AB- as well. The Red Cross would not let her donate. They said they would call her as needed.

Type O is the universal blood type which can be given to anyone in case of an emergency.  If you are making a designated donation, you would have to know the type, but in many cases, you can donate your pint of blood to a blood bank and the bank will give the proper blood type to the person who needs it.

Very Nice.  I never imagined how strong and big your wing span might be.  For your height and weight, they must be immense.  I'm not implying you are not proportionate.  I am using the size of an average bird body in conjunction to their wing spans.  Are they as big as the Capitol Building? I bet when you fly it is quite a sight to behold!!  Do you tuck them in your pants when you walk?  What do you do with them when you aren't flying?

You're right.  The capitol building is probably the size of the their brains. Molting season is one of my favorites for birds.  I am a big fan of down comforters.  Please tell your goose friends thank you for me.  Their feathers keep me warm at night. :) :)  Do you feel like you want to be brushed to relieve all those old feathers from your skin?  A soft, soft brush. Maybe a soft cloth would be better.  I like to think I know a good bit about mammals but I am pretty clueless when it comes to birds.  I love them. I just don't know much about their care.
