Growing up, we weren't tethered to our parents via cell phones. Once in a while we needed a nudge to get out there, but not often. "Outdoors" was freedom.
Swimming holes, one may drown. Trails, one may be bitten by a snake. Forts, I prefer farts. Hills, life is already a struggle. Buckets o' things, might be poisonous.
Parents work hard to give their kids a home and all the stuff that is inside it like TV, the refrigerator and delivered pizza. To not stay inside and enjoy these things is to show disrespect and to not be appreciative.
To deny the pure awesomeness of "outdoors" is to dis God, Mother Nature or serendipity...depening upon your belief...regardless, that is something created by something greater than you or I...
Well I can certainly see why your parents may have prodded you to go outside...I would wish you a good day, but I haven't time for doom and gloom this morning.
Reminds me of when my daughter was little staying with grandparents. My brother got all mad told our Mom she needed watch the kids better. My daughter had his kids out there "eating weeds" It was honeysuckles. Lol
