Made with less heart put into it might be,  but who is to know?

  • No, I don't think so. Be best to see if someone from other than the U.S. can answer that better than I.

  • I know both of mine were made in the U.S. but a lot of people just don't care.

It seems wrong on so many levels and it takes away jobs in the U.S..

  • Not a thought I have had.  But it is not where it came from but where it is and what it stands for. I don't need to look where it was made to decide that.

  • It is a strange irony, no?

Well, it's a sign of something as well as a thing.

If burning a flag as a protest is a protected activity (of which I heartily disagree), then I would prefer the flag so desecrated be of foreign origin.

And I would like all US flags flown on state or federal property to be of US origin.

No, it isn't less patriotic, but I will not fly a flag that is not made in the U.S.A.

  • Of course not. The flag is a symbol; as long as it's accurately produced it doesn't really matter about the origin.

Taking this a step further, during the Iran-Iraq war soldiers of one side (I forget which side) were issued with plastic keys to Paradise. The keys were stamped, "Made in Taiwan."

I get your point and add nothing is lost if nothing was sacred. Tis not the vessel but the message. America is not just a place but also an ideal and/or inspiration perhaps to others not living under it.

  • Perhaps. I wasn't speaking of America but the flag of any nation.

  • I think it's ridiculous.
