Here you go, on this link Jewels Vern gives his recipe for oatmeal ginger pancakes...I eat them every day now they are SO good...and I top them with Dragonfly's suggestion, the peanut butter and applesauce!
Yesterday was my birthday. It is my Mom's custom to send a large quantity of her homemade Chex mix. This is the ultimate snack. At non birthday times I like crackers and cheese or assorted olives. Hummus too.
Thanks, I appreciate that. Each year I think to tell my Mom either 1. The Chex mix never arrived or 2. It was TERRIBLE! Either way would get me a second batch. Still just doesn't seem quite right.
Whistle6, I am guessing that homemade chex mix is a recipe from the 1950's...I don't know recall now where my own mother got it, but we made it in a roasting pan, it has Worcestershire sauce, butter, baking it and stirring every ten minutes I think...oh, S"O" good!
The recreation then was folks get together for pinochle games...and lots of "nibbles" on hand, as they were called then!
