No. Memories are to be treasured but not to be dwelt upon to the point where they stop us living. Today is where it's all happening. Tomorrow needs to be in our expectation.
I know a sad old man -- late 70s -- who yearns for the 1950s and has a habit of saying, "This is not the country I grew up in." And thank God it's not. The world has come a long way in the last 70 years.
Optimism isn't all starry-eyed and dreaming: an optimist has a vision. Those visions have created the world we live in.
Remember that an optimist is a person who goes into a restaurant, orders oysters, and expects to find a pearl in one. A pessimist expects to choke on it.
No Zack, remember this World is harsh, smile and they smile with you, cry and they smile at you, each of us have their hell but burning in it will only reduce us to ashes, rise like a Phoenix and show the World you don't CARE!
