That is a great idea.  I already unwrap the end of the stick and apply the butter like that.  The problem is re=wrapping the butter.  It never goes back correctly . Then there are this pesky toast bits that cling to the unused part of the butter stick.  I would definitely buy a butter stick like that.

Since I never have applied butter in any way but a knife,  I am not sure.  I think we have to consider the fact that we are making more plastic and have this wrapper that was supposed to be for our convenience, now plugging the landfill.  It is not necessary.  I see no reason.

I use the good old knife and that works just fine. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at March 25, 2017 8:55 PM MDT

I was introduced to Kerrygold brand butter (made in Ireland) about a year ago by my sister- in-law.---It comes in both stick and tub.---The tub butter becomes very spreadable soon after it is taken out of the refrigerator---Great stuff, don't use any other brand now.

NO.  I've seen those things you insert a stick of butter so you can rub the end of the stick on hot items such as corn on the cob.  No thanks.  I do melt butter and put on the table to use for dipping or easy spreading on corn or toast.
