How could they come in peace? If true extraterrestrials came to Earth at all they wouldn't be just passing through. It would be a dedicated journey and probably one way because of the distance involved. So when they arrive they are commited to whatever reason brought them here in the first place and I doubt the reason is to help mankind. I don't think they will be true extraterrestrials. I believe they meaning an advanced species other than us, have been here the whole time. Watching us and waiting for when the time is right to make themselves known. Methink their justification for going public will be to save us. That in itself should set off alarms. No true extraterrestrials would behave that way in my opinion.

We would not come with the intention of war but the things we would have to do to stay might be as good as war. Think about it. We would take land and resources and set up government. What happens if our ways conflict with native ways? I'm telling you the effort it takes to get from habitable world to habitable world means you would be there to stay.
Exactly. What I find curious is, the few people I have had this discussion with believe our intentions would be peaceful. But, I don't believe we would be viewed any differently by the population of an alien planet as we would view them. They would immediately view us as a threat.
I believe you may be right. I've seen some of the primitive drawings in caves which show space ship things coming down from the sky and drawings of unearthly creatures.
