Sawree... I'm an imp. Okay Veena, it's from Douglas Adams' The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy which is comprised of 5 books. No, that's Mr. Adams' joke, not mine. Characters in the novel are looking for the answer to life, the universe, and everything. If I remember correctly (I read the books a long time back) there was a super computer with the answer. It was 42. Lots of theories as to where Adams came up with this, some people think it was his way to pay tribute to Lewis Carroll. Unfortunately, Adams died at age 49.
Succinct... May I add that Alice in wonderland and Hitch-hiker both share a connection in that ordinary people both find themselves living in worlds they didn't know existed.. One down a rabbit hole, the other in outer space... And the song Tammy posted is about physchedelic drugs which take you places you didn't know existed... So cunning on Tammy's part!

Not Quite. Deep Thought wasn't ever on planet Earth. Planet Earth was the program simulation to devise the question that 42 is the answer to. There is an Earth Mark 2. Remember Slartibartfast was making the coastlines and in charge of Africa. He was particularly proud of his fjords of Norway in Mark 1 because fjords have a good baroque feel. lol

I don't know. I give serious thought to this every morning while I'm staring at the wall drinking coffee waiting for my body to wake up. Perhaps it means different things to different people.
